The above series addresses the impact of one culture upon another which occurs today as well as during the ages past. Be it immigration or invasion all people sort of 'rub off' on each other and all assimilate some of the other. I often use the pillar icon of European culture integrated with petroglyphs in the canyons of Western American states.
Below Furrows series: Civilization brings with it the cultivation of the land.These paintings show the familiar rows of cultivated land as so many ribbons like waves upon the sea, covering all from horizon to horizon. |

More Traditional ....the following acrylic paintings are
from the Sunrise series. There is
little difference of a sunset or a sunrise. Unless you know the lay of the
land. Here in the San Joaquin Valley of California we all recognize the
following paintings as SUNRISE over the wonderful Sierra Nevada. I included
no man-made thing - just nature. I feel the entire grouping (16 in all)
are the piece and have shown them as a grouping more than once. Each day
brings a different sky. How nice.
