Most of these art works are paintings in oil or acrylic on constructed frameworks of various kinds. Some of the selections I consider drawings rather than paintings due to the techniques of paint application.

On the left. Tribute to the 9/11 atrocity. I drew children whose faces appeared in newspapers at the time of the bombing. Each is on individual panel of chiffon. At the base of the Twin Towers in the background is ashes incorporated into the paint.
On the right. I always wanted a large globe like this. When one came into my possession (a long story) I decided to paint it as the 'flagship' for my exhibition, Quintessence: Connection & Communication, dealing with our place in the universe. All coastlines are carefully and accurately left in place, the elevations are indicated by yellow the highest to maroon at shoreline. The oceans are painted with silver paint mixture, also color indicating depth. The ocean currents are traced with silver. |

I call them 'my boxes'. Where the idea came from I am not sure, but the construction began just before the Millennium. As many artists around the world were, I did several pieces in different mediums marking this juncture of time as we know it. I had dragged around for years a couple shallow large drawers in which I kept sheets of paper and other flat things. I wanted to make a 3-dimensional drawing commemorating the Millennium. I had been drawing and painting on fabrics for quite awhile, so using the techniques developed since about 1995, I treated my fabrics and copied various Christian manuscripts on the fabrics and rolled them and wove them into the boxes - one for A.D 30 - A.D.999. The other box was for the second Millennium.
